Brandy, move over. Teen singing sensation Britney Spears (whose “Baby, One More Time” is one of the biggest sellers of the year) has just signed to appear on TV. As part of an 18-month development deal with Columbia-Tristar TV, Spears will star in a three-part episode of Columbia’s “Dawson’s Creek,” and the studio will try to develop a drama or comedy for her, reports Variety. The 17-year-old singer’s manager, Rob Lee, said that nothing will be ready for the fall and that any prospective series would have to fit into Britney’s singing and recording schedule. Besides “Dawson’s Creek,” Columbia-Tristar also produces “Party of Five” on the Fox network. “They have great expertise in that area,” Lee said of the studio’s youth-thrust.
