Trista and Ryan Finally Tie the Knot
It’s official: “Bachelorette” Trista Rehn and fireman Ryan Sutter tied the knot Saturday at 5 p.m. in a million-dollar wedding near Palm Springs, Calif., reports Reuters.
Among the 300 guests at the ceremony, held at the Lodge at Rancho Mirage (a hotel and resort about 120 miles east of Los Angeles), were a TV camera crew and some of the bride’s former suitors from “The Bachelorette.” The nuptials will be televised on ABC on Wednesday.
ABC bankrolled the ceremony, which cost somewhere in the seven figures, reports PEOPLE. “Never ever would I have been able to afford this,” Rehn, 31, a former physical therapist, told the magazine before the wedding.
Rehn wore a gown by Badgley Mischka; Sutter donned a Kenneth Cole tuxedo. Guests reportedly were treated to a feast prepared by chef Fredric Nail that consisted of 200 pounds of shrimp, lobster and crab, not to mention 180 bottles of champagne and 600 bottles of wine.
Besides the big ratings anticipated by Wednesday’s airing of the ceremony, the wedding also has generated a lawsuit by Rehn’s former manager, Kevin Allyn, who claims she owes him a commission fee of $200,000 on the $1 million she earned from ABC for the wedding rights.
Rehn’s attorney, Stanton “Larry” Stein tells Reuters that the suit was motivated by a desire to cause pain and embarrassment for Rehn but would only be a “a tiny little black cloud” at the wedding.
