Todrick Hall is basically a member of Taylor Swift‘s squad now.

On Tuesday, Swift hung out with Hall after the MTV star and former American Idol season 9 contestant’s mashup up your favorite Swift songs caught her attention. The duo got silly backstage at Swift’s concert in Kansas City, Missouri, snapping cute photos they later shared on Instagram.

“My new BFF! Thanx @taylorswift for inviting me to your show! #1989worldtour,” Hall captioned one of his posts.

An adorable embrace and fierce split were also on the menu, but the highlight was Swift recording a funny voicemail greeting for Hall.

Hall released his Swift-themed cover video on Monday, and it didn’t take long for the clip to catch the Internet’s attention. We don’t want to give it all away, but Hall manages to cover plenty of 1989 tracks and old school favorites in just a few minutes. Even more impressive: Hall harmonizes with himself and takes on four different parts in the video.

Swift reacted to the epic clip early Wednesday, tweeting, “I honestly can’t believe what I just saw. This amount of talent in one person has me speechless. I [heart emoji] @toddyrockstar.”

Swift regularly gives her blessing to covers – most recently, the “Wildest Dreams” singer showed her support for musician Ryan Adams‘ 1989 cover album.

“Ryan’s music helped shape my songwriting. This is surreal and dreamlike,” she tweeted last Thursday.

Meanwhile, Swift has a clip of her own making the rounds online. The singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an adorable dance video she made with 7-year-old fan Dylan Barnes.
