Tim Tebow: I Want a Family with Someone 'Sweet and Kind'
"Looks play a big part," says the quarterback, but it's "so much more than that"
What is Tim Tebow, one of the NFL’s most eligible bachelors, looking for in a girlfriend? Someone who’s kind and humble and, yes, beautiful – but on the inside as well as the outside.
“Obviously looks play a big part. Being attracted to someone plays a big part, but there’s also so much more than that for me,” the New York Jets quarterback, 25, tells Vogue in its October issue. (See video of the photo shoot.)
“It’s about finding someone sweet and kind – and that has a servant’s heart.”
That latter phrase comes from the Bible – Tebow is a devout Christian – and refers to maintaining humility regardless of one’s personal wealth or celebrity. It’s clearly an issue for Tebow, who has both. And he doesn’t want someone who’s dazzled only by his fame or riches.
“It’s about finding a girl who likes me for me, and not because of what I do, or who I am, or the name,” he says.
The future Mrs. Tebow has a lot to live up to, he adds. “I’ve been blessed to have an amazing mom and two amazing sisters,” Tebow says. “So they set a very high standard.”
That said, he adds, “I definitely, definitely want a family.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Tebow talks about life after football. One thing’s for sure: He wants to be involved in some kind of public service.
“There are a lot of goals and ambitions that I have in life, things I want to accomplish,” he says. “Who knows? I mean – it could be politics one day. I want to have a life that can help people.”
