Tim Allen is quickly filling up his dance card.
The “Santa Clause” star, 49, still fondly remembered for his ABC sitcom “Home Improvement,” is due to play an unemployed Texas playboy who goes to work selling Mary Kay cosmetics in the comedy “In the Pink,” says the Hollywood Reporter.
A script has yet to be written, says the trade paper.
As was previously announced, the actor is firmly attached to take on the Robert Young role of Jim Anderson in a big-screen version of the squeaky clean ’50s sitcom “Father Knows Best.” He is also talking to Disney about proceeding with two more “Santa” movies, says the Reporter.
In other casting news, gravel-voiced “Hairspray” Broadway star Harvey Fierstein, 48, who plays a mother in drag for the show, is working with ABC to develop a “Roseanne”-like sitcom in which he would star.
The plan is to shoot a pilot in New York once the actor wraps up his “Hairspray” stint in August, say trade reports. The TV show, as yet, does not have a title.
