The 'Star Wars' Record

The latest “Star Wars” epic smashed its way to a new box office record, wiping out dinosaurs as a force to be reckoned with. “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace” took in $28.5 million on its opening day (which was a school day), surpassing the previous $26.1 million single-day record gross set by the 1997 dinosaur epic “Lost World: Jurassic Park,” according to 20th Century Fox, which is distributing “Menace.” FYI: Only 1,093 days until “Episode II.”
