The Spice Girls Reunite and Change Name to 'GEM' – but Where Are Posh and Sporty?
The Spice Girls just changed their name – and invited us to their party!
Three-fifths of the ’90s girl group – Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell and Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton – posted a 40-second video titled “Spice Girls GEM” (their first name initials spell “GEM”) to a new YouTube account and website with the same name. The other members of the full Spice squad, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm were not featured in the clip, but have kept mum on the subject of a reunion.
“We’ve been thinking,” Brown says in the video. “We have the best fans in the whole entire world.
The build-up continues with Halliwell saying, “You’ve stood by us for 20 years, and we want to say a big ‘thank you.’ ”
Bunton adds in, “We’ve had our ups and downs, but you’ve always been there.”
Then the trio, shown in a split screen happily talk about the “party” they are planning to throw in celebration of the 20-year anniversary of the Spice Girls release of “Wannabe.” And the guest list?
“You’re all invited!” they scream in unison.
The three pop stars also Instagrammed a photo of the party hat-clad trio smiling together in a bed.

Last year, Mel B told PEOPLE she would be the first to tell fans about anything having to do with a reunion.
“It’s our 20th anniversary next year,” she told PEOPLE. “So once we decide, and get things going, then I’ll be the first one yelling it from the rooftops!”
And just a few months later, GEM met up for an Instagram-worthy lunch together.
With a website, new video and a promise to “…tell you soon what you want, what you really really want,” it doesn’t seem like Scary Spice needs a rooftop. And it’s clear that GEM has much more to say.
