Onscreen: surrogate dad Former heroin addict Charlie helps Claire (Emilie de Ravin) care for her newborn, Aaron.

Onscreen: isolated husband Korean-speaking Jin can communicate only with his wife, Sun (Yunjin Kim).
Offscreen: clever father Kim, 37, who grew up in Easton, Pa., and wife Mia have two sons, 9 and 3, who talk only in English. "We speak Korean when we don't want the kids to know what we're talking about," Kim says.
Fun fact: He'll play an Ivy Leaguer in an upcoming comedy based on satirical newspaper The Onion.
