CBS has given the green-light to a proposed pilot for a new “The Fugitive” TV series, says Variety. The 1963-67 ABC series, which starred David Jansen as the falsely accused murder suspect Dr. Richard Kimble, generated the highly successful 1993 Harrison Ford movie. (The entire scenario was inspired by the true life case of Dr. Sam Shepard, whose wife was killed under murky circumstances.) No casting for the new version — which could air sometime next year — has been announced, but the optimistic producers are saying they intend to have a high-budget action series that will be shot all over the country.
