They're Not Your Average Family: Meet the Keswanis!
A former pageant girl and an optometrist, Vaishali is now the Keswanis' acting "momager," handling her son's show business career. "I'm fun," she jokes with her kids. "I'm such a cool mom." Despite her family's unpredictable nature, she's content: "If I could go back, and I had control, I would not change a thing."
Arguably the most "traditional" member of the Keswani clan, dad Anil is an internal medicine specialist turned hospital executive. Extra close with his daughter, Sarina, he stepped in when Vaishali was unable to attend Sarina's pageant bikini photo shoot – despite his clueless state. "As a father, you always want to protect your daughter," he says.
He's known to the world as Big Nik, a Vine superstar with 2.7 million followers. But to his family, the eldest Keswani child is just Nik – a natural comedian who suffers from a rare form of dwarfism. "Big Nik was like a message," he says of his Vine account. "You don't have be big in height to be big, you just have to have a big personality."
She's a self-proclaimed introvert, but the middle Keswani is finding her voice through the world of pageantry. "The whole experience has taught me so much," she says. "It's really brought me out of my shell."
The youngest Keswani may only be 6 years old, but she's got a lot of personality. "She's a floating ball of noise and craziness," Nik says of his sister. The first-grader was born a male, and at the age of 5, transitioned to female. After an emotional talk with Devina – then Dev – at age 5, "It just hit me," Vaishali says. "That my child is a girl."
