The Hunger Games's All-Star Fans
When it comes to being a super fan, Bell may take the cake after throwing a Hunger Games-themed birthday party in July 2010. "I had a blow-up castle bouncy house on the front lawn and I put The Capitol [on it]," she told the Huffington Post. "All my friends dressed as the characters and I dressed as Katniss. I was head-to-toe in spandex with a fire cape and carried a bow and arrow."
Was she channeling President Snow? After attending The Hunger Games premiere – sporting an oversized flower as her neckpiece – Osbourne took to Twitter to share her enthusiasm. "All I have to say is wow!" she wrote. "It really is a must see!"
"I'm kind of riveted by it and terrified by it at the same time," the actress told MTV in 2010 while midway through the first book, later joking she'd even consider plastic surgery if it meant she'd appear young enough to portray 16-year-old Katniss onscreen.
"Katniss is my homegirl. I would absolutely die to be in The Hunger Games," the scene-stealing star of Kick Ass told MTV in Oct. 2010 while in contention for the role. "I'm like halfway through the first book right now. It's pretty good; I'm really loving it."
It took some time, but the Paramore frontwoman eventually found herself hooked on The Hunger Games. "After carrying it around for 2 months, I am finally completely consumed," she Tweeted in Nov. 2011.
Not even the Microsoft chairman can withstand Katniss's charms! In addition to tomes on physics, modern medicine and energy consumption, Gates placed The Hunger Games on his list of books to read for Scholastic.com.
Having loved the series for a long time, Banks was understandably psyched to learn she'd scored the plum part of Effie Trinket in the film adaptation. "I was a huge, dorky fan long ago," she told MTV. "I'm really gratified to be a part of the movie. I'm really looking forward to that."
MALIA & SASHA OBAMA
The Hunger Games comes to the real Capitol! During a shopping trip with dad in Aug. 2010, first daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, 9, were spotted picking up a copy of the first book in author Suzanne Collins's best-selling trilogy from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore in Vineyard Haven, Mass.
With The Twilight Saga wrapping up, Pattinson has turned his attention to a new phenomenon. "I sort of came across it last year, and I didn't realize it was the most enormous thing in the world," he told Entertainment Weekly in April 2011. "It's good! It will be a good movie."
No hard feelings here! Though Roberts lost out on the role of Katniss to Jennifer Lawrence, she remains a diehard fan. "I'm really excited to see the movie," she told MTV. "I read all the books a couple weeks ago and I've got all my friends hooked, so it's totally cool and I can't wait to see it."
