Barbra Streisand wants Woody Allen’s Dixieland band to open for her New Year’s Eve 1999 show at Madison Square Garden, reports New York’s Daily News. Not that it has even been confirmed that Streisand will sing there and then, the paper adds, though there have been burps to that effect. Streisand’s manager said that talks regarding such a concert “are in progress,” though no venue or date has been set. As for having Allen open for her, Woody told the News: “This is the first I’ve heard of it.”
