The Art of DiMaggio

Climb the Fifth Avenue staircase to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Great Hall, turn right into Egyptian Art, head to the Temple of Dendur, pass through the glass doors and out the other end of the Temple and turn left. There you will find seven rare baseball cards spanning the career of the late New York Yankees icon Joe DiMaggio, the earliest of which date to his legendary rookie year in 1936. The cards belong to the museum’s Jefferson R. Burdick collection, the most comprehensive group of American trade cards ever assembled in the United States.
