16-year-old John Denno, from Liverpool, England, is a big LEGO fan. So when he was assigned a school report on the Holocaust and the Nazis’ rise to power, he knew what his chosen medium would be. And pics of the unusual – albeit impressive – project are spreading across the Internet.

“I chose LEGO because that is what I’m good at,” Denno told the Huffington Post. “I can’t draw for the life of me so I thought this would be an interesting way to present the project.”

It worked: Denno got an A on his project. Between his grade and his newfound Internet fame, that’s pretty good for an assignment that only took him about six hours.

Denno adds that even though he chose to work with LEGOs, he doesn’t necessarily believe they’re “the perfect way to represent what went on.”

“I struggle to think of how anything could represent such a big waste of life,” he added.
