Get ready for four teen divas known simply as the Donnas. After some exposure on MTV for last year’s album “American Teenage Rock ‘n’ Roll Machine,” they now appear as an all-girl bubblegum group in the black comedy “Jawbreaker,” which stars rocker Marilyn Manson and his girlfriend, Rose McGowan. Another movie is already in the works. “A lot of people see us as a teen band,” said guitarist Donna R. with a shrug. “It’s nice to do a movie, even if you’re typecast.” None of the young Palo Alto High School graduates — the two oldest recently turned 20 — are actually named Donna. The band’s new record, “Get Skintight,” is due in June. The San Francisco Chronicle described their songs as “excitable anthems for juvenile delinquents.”
