World News Videos | ABC World NewsAlex from Target might have all the fame, but these Target employees are the real heroes.

A North Carolina teen stopped into his local Target store recently to pick up a tie to wear to his job interview. He was looking for a clip-on tie, because he didn’t know how to tie a real one.

“I asked [the teen] if he needed help and he told me he needed clip-on ties,” Cathy Scott told Raleigh ABC affiliate WTVD. “We didn’t have any,” she said, so she went to her coworker, Dennis Roberts.

Scott and Roberts brought the teen a tie and tied it for him, adjusting his collar in the process. But they went further than that, helping the kid prep for his interview.

“We said, ‘Make sure you look him in the eye.’ I’m saying, ‘Make sure you give him a firm handshake,’ and [Scott] showed him. He tucked his shirt in,” Roberts continued.

Another customer, Audrey Mark, took a picture. “It was a very quiet, simple moment, but it was very profound, honestly,” said Audrey. “He leaves and all these Target employees are screaming, ‘Bye! Good luck! Tell us how it went.’ ”
