Taboo of Black Eyed Peas Arrested for DUI

The music star was cited for marijuana possession

Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas was arrested near Los Angeles for driving under the influence, police said Wednesday.

Taboo, whose real name is Jaime Luis Gomez, 31, was driving alone Tuesday morning in the City of Industry when he was involved in a minor traffic accident, says sheriff’s Sgt. Ernie Bedoya.

“When police arrived on the scene, they determined that Gomez was driving under the influence,” Bedoya says. “He also identified himself as being a member of the Black Eyed Peas. He was cooperative and was arrested without incident.”

Gomez was cited with four charges: driving under the influence, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana while driving, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

He was booked at the City of Industry sheriff’s station, and was released later Tuesday evening after posting $15,145 bail.

A rep for Taboo was not immediately available for comment.
