Rapper T-Pain leads this year’s BET Award nominations, with five nods, the network announced Thursday.
Kanye West and Keyshia Cole were up next with three nominations each, while Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and newcomer Flo Rida all got two nods.
Although T-Pain has his own hits, it was his frequent collaborations with other artists, from Chris Brown to West, that helped him secure the nominations. “T-Pain is everywhere,” BET Executive Vice President Stephen Hill told the Associated Press. “He’s got five nominations, none of them for his own work.”
Legend Al Green will be honored with a lifetime achievement award and Quincy Jones will receive an award for his humanitarian work.
The BET Awards will be presented June 24 in Los Angeles.
