In a new interview with The Daily Beast, the actress reveals she had a “pretty interesting” love affair with the musician after they met on the set of the film. “He’s worth idolizing. He’s extraordinary. That was a really interesting period,” Sarandon, 67, says. The oldest of nine kids, Sarandon spent her younger years raising her siblings and wasn’t looking to settle down or start a family of her own. “That definitely changes the gene pool you’re dipping into,” she says. The romantic rendezvous came after Sarandon divorced her first husband, Chris Sarandon, and before she began dating actor Tim Robbins, whom she split with in 2009 after 23 years together. While she admits to another hookup with an actor – but doesn’t reveal his identity – she says she’s mostly been in committed relationships. “I’m pretty much a nester and tend to be monogamous,” Sarandon says. And although it’s been years since they went their separate ways, Sarandon still has nothing but good feelings for the British-born rocker. “Bowie’s just a really interesting person, and so bright. He’s a talent and a painter and … he’s great.” Want more stories like this? Sign up for our newsletter and other special offers: sign me up Thank you for signing up!
