New Girl's Jake Johnson Shares His Sundance Snaps
Let's get this started! Touching down in Park City, Utah, for the Sundance Film Festival, Jake Johnson, who cowrote and stars in Digging for Fire, meets up with a familiar face – the movie’s director Joe Swanberg, whom he calls "a great talent and a true friend."
Johnson may play a slacker on New Girl, but in his latest film he’s dad. Here, the actor gets silly with Jude Swanberg, who plays his son in the movie.
Who called shotgun? On the way to the Digging for Fire premiere, Johnson hops in with his costar Steve Berg (back left), and a friend of many names – "Nicky Excitement aka Sundance Nick aka Black Ice," Johnson jokingly calls him.
The temperatures may be cold, but it’s a hot ticket. At the film’s premiere, Johnson (third from right) reconnects with his cast, including his on-screen wife Rosemarie DeWitt (second from right), along with Unexpected director Kris Swanberg (far right).
Did they coordinate outfits? "Hanging out with the legend Chris Webber at the premiere," Johnson writes of his green room run-in with the similarly outfitted NBA All-Star.
There’s no shortage of stars at Sundance. "Here with the great Sam Rockwell," Johnson writes, posing with the fellow actor. Is there a collaboration in their future?
Part of the beauty of Sundance? Connecting with the locals! "Met with a Colorado police officer on the streets. Good man," Johnson (who starred in last summer's spoof Let's Be Cops) writes.
ON THE UP AND UP
Nice view, huh? Taking a breather from the action (hot chocolate break, perhaps?), Johnson walks to Main Street with "Nicky Excitement” and costar Steve Berg.
