Stewart: Class Act

“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, 37, broke everybody up — and said he broke something — at a Manhattan press conference yesterday to announce the 8th annual Toyota Comedy Festival, the largest such fest of its kind, to take place in New York June 1-10. Among the events scheduled all over the city will be stand-up performances, the premiere of the movie “Advice from a Caterpillar” with Andy Dick, and a June 8 Stewart comedy show at Carnegie Hall. Greeting reporters in a private conference room within the hallowed Hall, Stewart admitted, “I’m not used to playing this kind of s—house.” As for those who booked him, “People of Carnegie Hall,” he said, “if you wondered if that bust of Artur Rubenstein is breakable, it is. I’m sorry.”
