CNN viewers got a pleasant surprise during the network’s blizzard coverage on Saturday when Steven Tyler stopped by to dish out winter weather safety advice.

Joined by his daughter Mia Tyler, 37, the Aerosmith rocker chatted with CNN’s Poppy Harlow about the city’s nearly record-breaking weather.

“I’m gonna hunker down,” Steven said of his storm plans. “I’ve got a funny feeling the storm’s gonna keep us here a couple extra days.”

Steven, who appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Friday, was in town to visit Mia and his grandson Milo (Liv Tyler‘s 9-year-old son).

“How ya doin’ Milo!” Steven, 67, exclaimed, giving a live shoutout to the little boy.

Mia said the pair would be enjoying “family hugs” while Steven was in town, and divulged that her go-to blizzard tunes come from her dad’s new album.

Steven’s signature style was still evident despite the snow-covered layers, and the singer was wearing a skull patterned scarf.

Before signing off, the singer doled out some advice for those braving the storm: “Stay home.”

He added, “Two words: hot chocolate.”
