Stars Reveal the Best Gift They've Ever Given
ANNA KENDRICK: SHOPPING SPREE
When the actress was too busy promoting Up in the Air to buy her brother Michael a present, she offered an alternate solution: "I told him I would take him shopping the next time that I was in New York. Whatever his favorite stores were in the city, we could go there and he could just pick stuff out," she tells PEOPLE, adding, "It was like the worst and the best in a way, because it was not creative or original at all, but it was great because I knew that he got exactly what he wanted."
TYLER BLACKBURN: WATERCOLOR PAINTING
The Pretty Little Liars actor tells PEOPLE that he and his stepmother teamed up one year for the perfect present for his dad: They commissioned a watercolor painting, created from a family photo of a trip to Cape Cod. "It was just really beautiful," Blackburn says. "My dad got choked up, so I feel like that was pretty special for him."
BOBBY FLAY: RUBY RING
Ladies love jewelry – just ask Mrs. Flay, Stephanie March. Two years ago, the chef gave his wife a ruby ring. "She calls it her warm-weather engagement ring," Flay tells PEOPLE.
FLO RIDA: TOYS FOR SICK KIDS
"The best gift I ever gave was last Christmas. I gathered my staff and my artists, and we went to Miami Children's Hospital in South Miami, Fla., to give out toys to the kids," the "Good Feeling" rapper tells PEOPLE. "It gave me so much joy to just be there and speak with them. The toys are one thing, but the smiles I saw were priceless."
HOWIE DOROUGH: FAMILY TRIP TO HAWAII
"My family, they got blessed when I became a Backstreet Boy because the gifts got better," the singer admits to PEOPLE. And the one that really wowed them? "I actually took all my family to Hawaii. We rented out a house and I took care of their flights and everything while they were there. It was just a great memory and a great moment," he says. "'Cause for me, Christmas is all about the family."
DULé HILL: PHOTO ALBUM
The Psych actor says the best gift he ever gave his grandmother was a photo book with his picture in it, back in his West Wing days. "She sat there in my living room and stayed there for maybe a half hour, looking at my picture saying, 'Look what I lived to see,'" he tells PEOPLE. "So even though it was a gift to my grandmother, it was a gift to me because I realized, 'Wow, all of what she went through now seemed worth it. She realized that because of her sacrifice, her offspring can accomplish that.'"
JANE LEVY: BABYSITTING
The Suburgatory actress proves that you don't have to spend a ton of money to give someone an impressive gift. "I gave my cousin a night out with his wife and then I babysat his kids," Levy tells PEOPLE. "He could go out and have a nice dinner and not have to worry about the children."
