Jessica Biel has plenty to smile about: The Illusionist actress (in Oscar de la Renta) got '07 off to good start by collecting the Rising Star Award on Saturday at the Palm Springs International Film Festival – just a week after celebrating a hot New Year's holiday with Derek Jeter in Puerto Rico (inset).

Nick Lachey works the runway in Dolce amp Gabbana at the GM Style event in Detroit on Saturday. And his biggest fan – girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo – watched him strut his stuff from the front row.

Britney Spears takes a break from the club scene for the beach scene, wearing a bikini under her dress at Shutters on the Beach hotel Saturday in Santa Monica. Spears has been partying and working on a new album, but promises to "(come) back this year bigger and better than ever."

Leonardo DiCaprio cuts a dashing figure at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards in New York City on Sunday. The actor played cheerleader for Martin Scorsese, who won best director for The Departed. But DiCaprio has plenty of time to collect trophies of his own: The actor is nominated for two Screen Actors Guild awards and two Golden Globes.

Also making the scene at the Film Critics Circle Awards, Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson, who walked away with the prize for best supporting actress. "Who cares what Simon Cowell has to say?" the American Idol castoff joked as she accepted her trophy.

Maybe they should have given each other a call! Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet are mirror images in royal blue at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday. And they had every reason to smile: Blanchett accepted the Career Achievement Award while Winslet was honored with the Desert Palm Achievement for Acting for her work in Little Children.
