"She has to move her leg back to keep up with him," says body-language expert Patti Wood. "It's a lack of consideration." But seated, his body turned toward her shows "she's the most important thing in this moment to him."

KEITH & NICOLE:TOGETHER, YET...

In Boston Nov. 11, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban "are absolutely in sync walking down the street," says Wood. But the space between them "indicates a distance in terms of physical intimacy." While Urban has his hand firmly on her arm, Kidman's hands in her pockets signify that "she's not showing equal affection for him."

BRAD & ANGELINA:MUTUAL RESPECT

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's mirroredamovements and relaxed smiles (in Edmonton, Canada, in September) "show pretty powerfully that they're in sync," says Wood. Another good sign: Pitt's hold on Jolie's arm. "He's saying, 'Don't go too far ahead of me.' She's not disturbed by him holding on – it's just them balancing out the power dynamics in the relationship."

NICK & JESSICA:MISSED CONNECTION

Signs foreshadowing the couple's split last Wednesday have been evident for months. In Miami in August (left), Nick Lachey is "showing subservience" to Jessica Simpson, Wood says, but "she's not giving him the same attention back." On Nov. 12 in Calabasas, Calif., the couple are even more distant. The position of Simpson's arm "is a signal of, 'Don't touch me' And he's almost two steps ahead. There's a lack of connection.'"

VINCE & JENNIFER:IN THE MOMENT

Jennifer Aniston's hands-on treatment of Vince Vaughn (left, in Chicago last month) "displays her desire to be really connected," while Vaughn has "a calm, serene smile," says Wood. In Malibu (right, on Nov. 5), her arm over her heart and his hands in his pockets "show they're both feeling vulnerable – but it's more about the photographer than the relationship."

JUDE & SIENNA:OPENING UP

Two months before admitting he'd cheated, Jude Law gave Sienna Miller a comforting kiss (left, in London in May) – "the way a father would kiss a child good night," says Wood. In London in September, they let down their guards: By not carrying things in the arms nearest each other, "there's not one person trying to put a barrier up."

CHARLIE & DENISE:ON THE SAME PAGE

Mirroring each other's movements, Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards (with daughter Lola inaL.A. in June) "are on equal footing," says Wood. Richards's body faces Sheen's – "she's saying, 'I'm with him.' " As for Sheen, Wood says, "It would be better if he was touching her in some way" – but admits, "It's good that he's holding the baby bag."
