RITA WILSON & TOM HANKS
This year's Stand Up to Cancer telecast, which was broadcast on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox on Friday night, brought out a whole roster of A-listers, including the Sully star and his wife. The event held extra weight for the pair this year: after Wilson's breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent double mastectomy in 2015, she's now "100 percent healthy."
In the backstage photo booth, stars were asked to show support for those they know who've battled cancer. Franco's #Reasons2StandUp? His best friend.
The Fuller House actress (and as you'll soon see, a bevy of other celebs) posed with a $14.95 bear, that wears a mini-version of the classic SU2C hoodie and supports the cause.
The comedian got donors going during his on-air segment, and kept the energy going backstage in the booth.
Currently battling breast cancer, the actress made an appearance at the show and told reporters she's feeling "more me. Cancer has, in a strange way, done some amazing things for me," she shared with ET. "It's allowed me to be more me, like much more in touch with who I am, and much more vulnerable and the person that I always was, but I think it got hidden behind a lot of other stuff." She added that her chemotherapy treatments, which began in July, are coming to an end soon.
The How to Get Away with Murder star also had a bear-y good time at the show.
The Big Bang Theory star penned an essay about Jewish women and breast cancer for kveller.com last year.
Though healthy today, Stone's mother was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2008. "I was oddly stoic, the opposite of how I usually am," the actress recalled of that period at an event in 2013. "But it was terrifying."
"I've been fortunate enough where I haven't had anyone in my family, my immediate family or anyone in my family at all, who’s been affected by cancer," the singer told reporters on the red carpet. But "my fans reach out to me daily about how it does affect them, and – this blows me away – my music can help them cope. So it's really inspiring for me to be here."
"A friend currently getting her 3rd surgery 4 brains tumor = my #reasons2standup. What's yours?" Gad tweeted during the telecast.
"Today I have a reason to #standuptocancer," the How to Get Away with Murder actress wrote on Instagram. "I lost my father to stomach cancer and am passionate about helping others struggling with Cancer in any way."
Since losing her husband Jay Monahan to colon cancer in 1998, the newswoman has been outspoken about prevention, treatment and research of the disease.
"Lost too many we know and love (we <3 u Katy, Chuck) my #Reasons2StandUp," Bomer tweeted Friday night.
"I @SU2C to find a cure and for everyone who has lost someone to this horrible disease," Michaels posted on Instagram.
A hug with the SU2C bear capped off the night for the Fast & Furious star.
