A judge in London ruled Thursday that the Spice Girls must cough up nearly $600,000 in damages and legal costs after a lawsuit filed by Italian manufacturer Aprilia, maker of a “Sonic Spice” scooter, reports Reuters. The girl group signed to promote the product, but Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell’s departure in May of 1998 put the kibosh on the promotion. Aprilia sued, claiming that Halliwell knew she was leaving before singing to do the product endorsement, and won.
