As Labor Day approaches, we’re all trying to cram in as much summer as possible before drinking frosé – frozen rosé, get with it – will no longer be appropriate.
An important end-of-summer tradition is crowning the Song of the Summer. So what was it? The pros at Twitter gathered data on all the top-ranking charted songs from this summer and determined which jams caused the most online frenzy. They based their rankings on the number of Tweets mentioning the song title and artist name from the period of May 27 to Aug. 19. Under this definition, the song of the summer is officially … “Cold Water” (feat. Justin Bieber) by Major Lazer.
Other top contenders were “Into You” by Ariana Grande, ranked No. 2, and “Make Me” by Britney Spears, ranked No. 3. “Rise” by Katy Perry and “Work from Home” by Fifth Harmony also cracked the top five.
