Snoop Dogg is using his celebrity for good this holiday, and making sure residents of Inglewood, California, can cook a hot meal for their loved ones on Thanksgiving.

For the city’s second annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, the rapper joined Inglewood mayor James Butts to hand out over 1,500 turkeys to families in need last Thursday, according to NBC Los Angeles.

“Snoop Dogg took pictures with over 800 people at the event,” Butts told NBC. “We had a tented area for seniors to sit in, and the first thing he did was go over to take pictures with everyone there.”

Snoop got involved in the event, held at The Forum arena, last year after meeting Butts and asking how he could help out in the Southern California city, where his production crew is headquartered. This year’s turkeys nearly doubled the amount handed out in 2014, according to NBC.

“Inglewood, ya’ll know I love you,” the 44-year-old told the gathered community members, adding, “I just want to let ya’ll know that I’m gonna be doing this every year.”

He said he wanted to make sure all locals could have a “nice meal for Thanksgiving.”

The star also shared a video to Instagram on his way to the event.

“On my way to Inglewood to pass out some turkeys,” he said in the clip. “That’s what we do. Inglewood!”

“This is a very big help for not only myself, but for about a thousand people,” Xiomara Payan, one of the recipients, told NBC.

In addition to the birds, the “Gin and Juice” artist was even captured on video giving both hugs and kisses to some of the fans.
