First came Hollywood. Then Bollywood. And now there’s, er, Doggywood?

Hip hop star Snoop Dogg, 36, has teamed up with the reigning king of Indian films, Akshay Kumar, to record the title track for the actor’s upcoming Bollywood epic, Singh is Kinng.

In the accompanying music video, Dogg dresses in traditional grand sardar style. According to producer Vipul A. Shah, the rapper hopes to break into the booming Indian film scene. “Snoop wants to do a Hindi movie with Akshay, as he is really keen on wooing the Indian audiences,” Shah said in a statement.

“The most interesting aspect of the song is that one gets to see two very different styles – hip-hop with Snoop and Bhangra with Akshay,” says Shah. “Their chemistry was worth seeing as they’re superstars from two different worlds. To say the least, the video is looking brilliant!”

This is not the first time Dogg has strayed from his urban roots. In June, he released a country song, “My Medicine.”
