Simmons' Baby Music

Elsewhere in New York last night, Russell Simmons, chairman and CEO of Rush Communications and co-founder of Def Jam Records, was among those honored with a United Jewish Appeal Federation’s Spirit of Music Award. (The UJA is the world’s largest local philanthropic organization, and Wednesday’s gala recognized those who have made major contributions to one of the group’s main causes, music education in public schools.) Simmons and his wife, model Kimora Lee Simmons, both wore their usual uniforms: He wore a black suit accented by a white T-shirt and white Adidas sneakers with no shoelaces (just as he did at his wedding), and she wore a gray dress. She also towered over her husband in high heels and looked runway-ready — except for the fact she is 8 months pregnant. As the wardrobe-conscious Simmons told PEOPLE, the couple is well-prepared for the baby’s arrival. “It’s all done,” he said. “We have enough clothes for another country.”
