A Florida fisherman faced off against a giant bull shark on June 25 – and shockingly the man emerged the victor.
Ben Chancey was fishing for a goliath grouper in his kayak off the coast of Florida when he was suddenly pulled from his boat by an 8½-foot bull shark and launched into shark-infested waters, Fox News reports.
Chancey sought refuge on a nearby support boat but then he did the unthinkable – returning to his kayak to catch the shark, which had bitten his line and was still attached.
“I didn’t want him to get the best of me,” he told the New York Daily News. “I wanted to win.”
After claiming his prize, however, he decided to unhook the shark and set it free. For another fisherman, the shark could have made a hearty meal, but as for Chancey – he’s allergic.
