When Maximo Trinidad decided to go paddleboarding during his lunch break on Thursday, he probably wasn’t expecting to see a shark – let alone collide with one!

The Port St. Lucie, Florida, resident was paddling around a surf spot known as Corners, near Carlin Park in Jupiter, when he noticed a spinner shark swimming toward him, West Palm Beach’s WPBF News reports.

Seconds later, the shark collided with his board, causing him to lose his balance and fall into the water. Trinidad captured the entire encounter on a camera he had strapped to his paddleboard.

According to WPBF, Trinidad has been surfing since the 1970s and paddleboarding for three years. In his video of the incident, Trinidad wrote that the experience was “priceless” and made for an “awesome day.”

“I was shocked,” Trinidad’s wife Theresa told ABC News. “When I saw the video, I was like, ‘Holy cow!’ “
