Shannen Doherty Shares Moving Post-Chemotherapy Snap: 'Hope Is Possible'
On Friday, she revealed the side effects that breast cancer and chemo can have in a black and white photo that showed her lying on a hospital bed, turned on her side with a bag next to her head.
Shannen Doherty has been incredibly open about her chemotherapy, sharing a post-chemo workout video and picture of undergoing treatment on her Instagram page, unapologetically owning her moments of pain and happiness.
On Friday, she shared a bit more, revealing the side effects that breast cancer and chemo can have in a black and white photo that showed her lying on a hospital bed, turned on her side with a bag next to her head.
“#fbf to a very short bit ago. Day after #chemoday isn’t always so great,” she wrote. “Sometimes one isn’t able to dance, or eat or even to think about the next day. Sometimes it just feels like you aren’t going to make it.”
“That passes,” she continues. “Sometimes the next day or 2 days later or 6 but it passes and movement is possible. Hope is possible. Possibility is possible. To my cancer family and everyone suffering…. stay courageous. Stay strong. Stay positive. #wegotthis. #fightlikeagirl.”
The 45-year-old 90210 star began undergoing another round of chemotherapy in late August, sharing a post about it on Instagram.
She has also chosen to document loving moments with her husband, Kurt Iswarienko, who has remained steadfastly by her side.
In early October, the actress posted a video on social media, telling followers that making time and pushing past exhaustion for exercise was key to getting healthy.
“It’s not always easy and sometimes I can’t do it the next day but I try to make an effort to get the blood flowing and the toxins out of my body thru working out. Some days are easy workouts and other days I push it but the key is to MOVE!!!” she wrote. “This is for any illness. Obviously check with your doctor. The road to recovery is paved with all sorts of different material.”
