It’s almost time to pick your faction.

On Wednesday, Summit Entertainment released a two-and-a-half-minute trailer for Divergent, the first film in Veronica Roth’s popular young adult series of the same name.

As the film’s protagonist, Beatrice “Tris” Pryor, Shailene Woodley opens the tease opposite her mother (played by Ashley Judd), and the tension of this incredible story builds as the camera pans across the futuristic dystopian version of Chicago the duo live in.

Here, society is broken into five factions, each dedicated to a different virtue – there’s Abnegation (where protagonist Tris was raised) for the selfless, Dauntless for the brave, Amity for the peaceful, Candor for the honest and Erudite for the intelligent.

As Erudite’s leader Jeanine Matthews, Kate Winslet issues a stone-cold warning to the 16-year-olds waiting to discover in what faction they’ll be placed.

“The only way our society can survive is for each of you to claim your rightful place,” she says. “Today, you will take a test that will help you discover who you truly are. The future belongs to those who know where they belong.”

Divergent comes to theaters March 21, 2014.
