Even more triumphant: Levine ended sparring partner Blake Shelton's three-year winning streak. 03 of 06 HE HIT THE BIG SCREEN From music to television to movies … the SMA proved he can do it all. Life imitated art in June, when Levine made his feature film debut in Begin Again, playing a rocker on the rise. "I was worried, but I had to pretend like I wasn't," he admitted to PEOPLE. Jitters aside, the newcomer earned praise from costar Keira Knightley. "He's a born entertainer," she said. "He's an absolute natural actor." 04 of 06 HE PUT A RING ON IT C Flanigan/Getty Admitting he went in his bachelor days, the reformed party boy became a married man in July when he wed Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo in Los Cabos, Mexico. To Ryan Seacrest, he added: "If it's the right marriage, if it's the right person, the guy feels a little bit more like a man." 05 of 06 HE TOPPED THE CHARTS A hitmaker above all else, Levine's trademark falsetto was back in full swing on Maroon 5's new album, V, in September (it debuted as No. 1 on the Billboard 200). "As a frontman, he's as dynamic and engaging as anybody on rock's main stage right now," Entertainment Weekly wrote. But the pop star proved he's mastered not just his own style, as he sang spot-on impersonations of stars like Frank Sinatra and Eddie Vedder during an epic appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. 06 of 06 HE GOT DOWN & DIRTY … REAL DIRTY In the age-old love story of a stalker-butcher obsessed with his customer, Levine and wife Prinsloo went primal in Maroon 5's in September. Between the predatory stares, gritty slabs of raw meat, totally nude makeout sessions and huge splatters of blood, he pretty much ticked off any remaining boxes in the "edgy" category – and got people actually talking about music videos again.
