Having a sexy dad bod has its perks, but there is something far more rewarding for Vin Diesel – fatherhood.
“I think kids, when you’re active with your kids, you are bound to somewhat stay in shape, but I don’t know … not to sound crazy, but I don’t know how important that is,” Diesel, 48, says in the latest issue of PEOPLE. “That’s not really what the most important thing in life is.”
Diesel found himself the target of body-shaming this summer after unflattering picture emerged. He quickly fired back with a super-buff selfie and an important message: “Body-shaming is always wrong!”
The Furious 7 star, who has four children – Similce, 7, Vincent, 5, and Pauline, 8 months with wife Paloma Jiménez and Isaiah, 8, from a previous relationship – is no stranger to showing off his fit physique.. However, his image is less of a priority these days.
“When you become a father … any parent, once you have kids, anybody who has kids wakes up every day wanting to be a better parent and that’s your main focus,” says Diesel. “And you are less vain and less narcissistic and your joy comes from your children and less about you.”
