Selma Blair Seemed 'Happy and Healthy' Just Before Shocking Airplane Outburst
Blair and ex Jason Bleick seemed to enjoy a relaxing weekend with their son prior to the actress' breakdown.
“She was happy and healthy the entire trip,” an onlooker told PEOPLE about the actress’ time at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, where she spent the weekend with her 4-year-old son Arthur Saint and her ex-Jason Bleick.
Blair, 43, whisked Bleick away on Thursday for a surprise Father’s Day Trip, during which the pair seemed to be doing a bit more than co-parenting as they were caught in photos cuddled up in a cabana on the beach.
When she wasn’t getting cozy with Bleick, the American Crime Story star enjoyed some R&R with a massage at the hotel’s spa, a source close to the star told PEOPLE.
Back at the beach, Blair and Arthur met some of the local wild life and had a chance to play with monkeys and toucans.
“Arthur was so happy to spend the weekend with his family, giving his mom lots of hugs and kisses on their beach getaway,” the source added.
However, Blair’s vacation ended on a bad note as she suffered a public outburst on her return flight from Cancun, Mexico to Los Angeles on Monday.
An official close to the situation told PEOPLE that Blair “was met by paramedics at LAX as soon as her plane arrived,” who removed her from the aircraft on a stretcher after witnesses reported to TMZ that she started to cry during the flight, as she spoke about fears regarding an unnamed male after allegedly mixing wine and medication.
“He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink,” she reportedly stated. “He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”
The source confirmed to PEOPLE that it seemed “she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol,” but that it was unclear “what sort of prescription medications.”
Blair had been traveling with her son on Monday’s flight.
Her rep has not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
