Gwyneth Paltrow wore Ralph Lauren, but her British co-star Joseph Fiennes wore hand-me-downs at this week’s London premiere of “Shakespeare In Love.” Fiennes, who claimed to be wearing clothes from a west London charity store, was joined by fellow cast members Colin Firth, Simon Callow, Tom Wilkinson, Martin Clunes, Mark Williams and Imelda Staunton at the benefit gala at the Empire Leicester Square. The British Press Association happily noted that the film, in which Fiennes plays local lad Will Shakespeare who struggles with writer’s block until he is inspired to pen “Romeo and Juliet” after falling in love with Paltrow’s character Viola, is doing good business in the U.S., where it has also been nominated for six Golden Globe awards.
