Vampire Diaries star Sebastian Roché is married!

Roché wed actress Alicia Hannah in the south of France at Chateau Les Bouysses in Mercues on May 31.

The weeklong celebration culminated in an intimate ceremony attended by 50 guests of close friends and family. The Mummy actor Oded Fehr, who acted as their officiant, said the festivities were a French fantasy.

“Picturesque rolling grape orchard hills, with a river lazily flowing between them. A 700-year-old castle. Local wine. Baguettes with brie that tastes of heaven. A group of strangers whom will forever be friends All just a lead in to the most incredible wedding,” he told PEOPLE.

The groom, who was born in Paris, said he knew Hannah was special when they met.

“I was smitten and knew she was ‘the one,’ I gave Alicia my number and she never called me!” Roché, 49, told PEOPLE. “We stayed friends nonetheless and thank goodness, turned into something more 2½ years ago. I proposed on the eve of her birthday in Topanga Canyon last year.”

Alicia, who recently filmed an episode of Chasing Life, wore a custom gown of silk organza and Chantilly lace by Los Angeles designer Seo Ho Seok.

“We worked for six months to create a gown worthy of a fairytale,” she said. “I felt like I was floating.”
