Oscar-winning actress Loretta Young, 87, one of the great beauties of the screen (and, along with Katharine Hepburn and Olivia de Havilland, one of the sole remaining stars from Hollywood’s Golden Era), has been hospitalized in Palm Springs, Calif., for the past three weeks, her publicist confirmed to Reuters yesterday. She should be returning home within another week, he said. Her family, acknowledging that the star underwent surgery, has asked that the cause of her hospitalization be kept private.
