Basketball star Scottie Pippen was arrested in Houston on suspicion of drunk driving after running a red light early Thursday morning. Pippen, 33, did poorly on a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, where he was videotaped and given the opportunity to take a breath test, said police spokesman Fred King. The Houston Rockets player refused and was booked and released on $500 bail. Pippen, a seven-time NBA all-star with six championships as a Chicago Bull, “adamantly denies he was intoxicated,” said his lawyer, Rusty Hardin.
