Satanists don’t want John Boehner comparing Ted Cruz to their leader.

The former house speaker ripped into Cruz during a talk at Stanford University on Wednesday, calling the Texas senator “Lucifer in the flesh,” according to the student newspaper The Stanford Daily.

“I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a b— in my life,” Boehner said.

The Satanic Temple weighed in on Boehner’s comments, slamming Cruz in an interview with Friendly Atheist, a blog published on Patheos.

“Cruz’s failures of reason, compassion, decency, and humanity are products of Christian pandering, if not an actual Christian faith,” the Temple’s spokesperson, Lucien Greaves, said.

“It grows tedious when pedophile priests and loathsome politicians are conveniently dismissed as Satanic, even as they spew biblical verse and prostrate themselves before the cross, recruiting the Christian faithful.”

The spokesperson added: “Satanists will have nothing to do with any of them.”

Boehner has long been a critic of Cruz and said he wouldn’t vote for the Republican hopeful if he snagged the nomination – although he would vote for Donald Trump.

Cruz slammed Boehner on Twitter, writing, “Tell me again who will stand up to Washington? Trump, who’s Boehner’s ‘texting and golfing buddy,’ or Carly [Fiorina] & me?”
