Sarah Palin is speaking out after Iraqi activists claimed on Sunday that ISIS followers have been authorized to kill newborn babies with Down syndrome, as well as other disabled children.

The former Alaska governor, who has a 6-year-old son, Trig, with Down syndrome, took to Twitter and Facebook on Monday to share a powerful message:

“ISIS Declares Death to Children With Down Syndrome
Note to muslim terrorists: Over my dead body.
Sarah Palin”.

Palin also shared several smiling photos of Trig with his family members, including one of herself and her son that featured a quote from the Bible: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

According to the Iraqi activist group Mosul Eye, at least 38 babies between one week and three months old have already been killed by lethal injection or suffocation since ISIS militants allegedly issued the religious decree, or fatwa, Fox News and Breitbart report.

Mosul Eye claimed in a Facebook post that “the Shar’i Board of ISIL issued an ‘Oral Fatwa’ to its members authorizing them to ‘kill newborn babies with Down’s Syndrome and congenital deformities and disabled children’ ”

The group also released a video showing disabled children. Mosul Eye’s claim has not been confirmed, according to Fox, although Breitbart notes that the group has reliably reported on Islamic State activities in the past.

Palin has been vocal about her son’s disability in the past. She opened up about how Trig is doing these days during a recent interview with CBN News, saying, “He’s reading. He’s not verbal, so it’s kind of hard to understand what he’s reading, but we know he is. He understands it.”

“His big sister, Piper, we call her the ‘Trig whisperer’ because she can interpret everything that he’s saying,” Palin shared.
