Celebrity Sarah Palin Congratulates Daughter Bristol on Her Wedding: 'Their Future Is as Bright As Alaska's Midnight Sun' Bristol's one-time ex-fiancé Dakota Meyer is now her husband By Diana Pearl Published on June 9, 2016 04:35 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Source: Sarah Palin/Facebook Just a day after her daughter Bristol Palin and her new husband Dakota Meyer announced their (surprise!) marriage, Sarah Palin is taking to social media to congratulate the happy couple. “All our families’ hearts are filled with love for Dakota, Bristol, Tripp, and Sailor Grace,” she wrote in a post on her Facebook page alongside a photo of the two on their honeymoon. “It’s been a rewarding and interesting ride this past year – but these two sure do love an adventure!” “As their biggest supporters, we’re stratospherically happy it’s happened, amidst running a little late!” the former vice presidential candidate joked. “Like they said, the foundation of their new life together is built with hard work and God’s grace, so they can’t go wrong – their future is as bright as Alaska’s midnight sun.” It was a long road to the altar for the couple: They announced their engagement back in March 2015, and then called the wedding off two months later, just a few days before their planned wedding. Within a few weeks, Bristol announced that she was expecting her second child – daughter Sailor Grace, who arrived in December 2015. As recently as March of this year, the two were in the midst of a bitter custody battle, which ultimately resulted in Meyer being awarded joint custody of Sailor, and visitation privileges in Alaska. After the ruling, things seemed to soften between the two, with Bristol agreeing to change Sailor’s last name to Meyer. They ignited reunion rumors last week with an Instagram posted to Meyer’s account, where the two smiled side by side in a tropical locale – with a diamond ring on Bristol’s left ring finger. “On one hand, we know that everything happens for a reason, and there are no mistakes or coincidences,” he wrote. “On the other hand, we learn that we can never give up, knowing that with the right tools and energy, we can reverse any decree or karma. So, which is it? Let the Light decide, or never give up? The answer is: both.” It seems his mother-in-law agrees!
