The singers use iChat to write a holiday song – and you can see the video first on!

Call it a holiday tale for the digital world!

When Sara Bareilles, who was nominated for two Grammys on Wednesday, and Ingrid Michaelson wanted to record a song together, their busy schedules got in the way. So, the singers turned to the video messaging program iChat to compose “Winter Song,” the lead track on the new holiday album The Hotel Café Presents Winter Songs.

Bareilles and Michaelson went back and forth online, writing and tweaking the song until it was ready to record. Then it ultimately rose to No. 1 on iTunes! Check out the new, winter- and friendship-themed, animated video, only on
