The TV star seeks spousal support from her Sideways director Alexander Payne

After announcing their separation last month, actress Sandra Oh filed for divorce from her Oscar-winning Sideways director and husband Alexander Payne on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Oh, who now stars on the new ABC hit Grey’s Anatomy, is seeking spousal support, reports the Associated Press. Court records also state that they have no children.

Oh, 34, and Payne, 44, “mutually decided to separate,” a spokeswoman confirmed to PEOPLE on March 11. “They have been together for five years and were married in (January) 2003. The couple will remain friends.”

Payne won an Academy Award for collaborating on the screenplay of Sideways, about two male pals’ wine-tasting trek through the Santa Barbara County vineyards.

Oh and Payne’s separation followed on the heels of a string of splits in Hollywood including Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, Katie Holmes and Chris Klein and Shannon Elizabeth and Joseph Reitman.
