Sandra Bullock is making herself at home in the Big Apple.

The actress, 46 – who has long maintained a residence in New York City but primarily splits her time between Austin and New Orleans – is settling in to begin shooting on her next film, the drama Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

The film, costarring Tom Hanks, is Bullock’s first since winning the Oscar for The Blind Side last year – and her first since becoming a mom to now 1-year-old son Louis.

After returning to Manhattan following her appearance at the Golden Globes last week – where she playfully dismissed rumors of a romance with actor Ryan Reynolds, saying, “he is not my lovah” – Bullock has been keeping things low-key around town with Louis.

Snapped with Louis leaving her downtown apartment, the actress remained mum when photographers asked about her reaction to news of her ex-husband Jesse James’s engagement.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close officially begins production at the end of January.
