Sandra Bullock headed down to the Big Easy to join in on the Mardi Gras celebration, beads and all!

The Gravity star was spotted watching the festivities Monday night with a group of celebrity pals, including comedians Chelsea Handler, Whitney Cummings, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Michael McDonald, her longtime friend and The Heat costar.

Bullock and McDonald sported purple shirts, while the group donned layers of plastic beads and bracelets and masks.

Not one to shy away from topless photos, Handler took off her shirt during the night in true Mardi Gras spirit.

Model Camila McConaughey and actor Anthony Mackie also joined in the revelry.

Bullock has had a longtime love for the Crescent City. She became a part-time resident in 2010 after finalizing the adoption of her New Orleans-born, 5-year-old son, Louis.

“New Orleans is his city, and he is going to know it inside and out,” she told PEOPLE in a 2010 cover story.

After Hurricane Katrina, Bullock also became a big supporter of Warren Easton Charter High School, the first public high school for boys in Louisiana, helping jumpstart renovations, new uniforms and a health clinic.
