The former Dancing with the Stars co-host Tweeted to her fans Tuesday to let them know she’s safe after undergoing a double mastectomy for breast cancer. Harris, 40, even lightheartedly referred to the surgical lines on her chest as “art.” “Made it thru grueling double mastectomy #surgery. Thanks to all of my amazing surgical team. Like my “art” b4 heading in?!” she wrote. Harris found a lump in her right breast in a routine self-examination last fall. Although she had recently had a clean mammogram, she saw a breast cancer specialist, and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Harris and her husband of 10 years, financier Michael Hess, struggled with how to reveal the news to her two daughters, Josselyn, 6½, and Hillary, 3. They also made a video of Harris’s health journey. “The day we found out while it was still fresh in our minds, we made a video,” she has said. “I don’t know if we’ll end up showing it to them, but at least we have the option.”
